Why Do You Do The Same Things Every Week?
Practice makes PROGRESS.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Sometimes repetition isn’t FUN.
It’s work and it can be monotonous, ESPECIALLY if you don’t see the method.
Showing up to do things you don’t want to do, because you know it’s making you better, is part of growing up. We all know the things we didn’t want to study, practice and make mistakes with were often the things we ended up excelling at.
Lawyers go to law school
Doctors go to med school
If they didn’t, they wouldn’t get their degrees, right?
Imagine you gave up every time something in your life was repetitive. You wouldn’t stick to very much, would you? (Shout out to all the moms rocking their babies to sleep every night!)
Owner, Nora started setting the building blocks in place at 4 weeks postpartum to get her pull-ups back. At 8 weeks, she’s doing sets of 3.
Is she back to her pre pregnancy reps?
Absolutely not. Just a year ago, she could do 10 pull ups no problem.
That will take me months, maybe longer.
BUT I’m not going to get anywhere near that goal if I don’t dig in and do the regressions and “boring” stuff that is a heck of a lot less glamorous.
Anyway, the point is that progress takes time. Ask anyone who’s hit a strength milestone: we can guarantee they won’t tell you it happened overnight.
You may as well strap in and enjoy the ride!
