OUR TEAM

  • Nora Matthew, Founder

Nora Matthew is the founder of Her Strength Studio. She first found a love for health and wellness as a Division I collegiate sprinter in 2009. As an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Personal Trainer, Nora trained populations from young athletes to geriatrics and finally found her passion in working with women of all ages. After having her first baby in 2012, Nora created Pregna-Fit, a unique strength training and labor preparation method for all stages of pregnancy. The program expanded in 2014 to include rehabilitative exercise from 6 weeks postpartum, Mommy & Me Strength classes, and the Mama Strength small group training program. In 2017, Nora envisioned a studio that focused primarily on women’s health. Now a mother of four, seeing Her Strength Studio come to fruition has been one of the most nerve-wracking and exciting times in her life to date, and she would not have it any other way.

  • Mary O’Hearn, Strength Coach

Mary is a Certified Functional Strength Coach and StrongFirst Kettlebell Instructor. Mary's love of movement began over a decade ago with endurance sports; completing multiple running races and triathlons. However, in 2012 Mary was introduced to the world of strength training and hasn’t looked back since. Functional strength training truly resonated with her, as she saw the benefits of this type of training in her own life. Wanting to help others reap these same benefits, Mary began personal training.

Currently, Mary resides in Saratoga Springs where she trains clients and hopes to empower them to get stronger and move better no matter what their age, limitations, or histories may be.

  • Kristen Lehrfeld, Strength Coach

Kristen Lehrfeld is a StrongFirst Kettlebell Instructor. Kristen’s passion for movement, strength, and athletics comes from competing as a Division 1 field hockey player and coaching youth sports. Kristen started training with kettlebells 8 years ago and instantly fell in love with their versatility. Kristen is also a certified High School Counselor and has three young kids.

  • Angela Luizzi, Strength Coach

Angela’s passion for health and fitness developed as a Division I collegiate soccer player. Her athletic and fitness experiences inspired her to help others reach their health and fitness goals. After graduating from the University of Albany with a bachelor’s degree in human biology, she pursued her personal training certification through the American Council on Exercise. Using her knowledge of performance training, kettlebells, and functional movement, she trains clients of all ages and all fitness levels.

  • Amanda (Blanchard) Bryan, Strength Coach

Amanda’s interest and eventual passion for health and wellness sparked when she began playing competitive handball in the Capital District. It became apparent how essential regular and intentional movement is to obtain a higher quality of life. After moving back to New York in 2014 and having her first baby in 2015, Amanda found the Mommy+Me program, transforming kettlebells and functional training into a lifestyle, and she’s been hooked ever since. Recently certified as a personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Amanda is really looking forward to advancing her education and skills with the support of the Her Strength community. Amanda currently lives in Albany with her husband Michael and two children, Matilda and Gavin.
